The iAM Woman in Business Circle Meeting V: Authentic Personal Branding
The Agenda
From 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm we will discuss the ACTV program - brainstorm to find the right name that reflects our intention and if anyone has questions and suggestion we can go over those.
6:30 pm to 8:30 pm we will work on building our Authentic Personal Brand.
What is a personal brand and why do you need to have one?
Whether you are self employed, an artist, or a professional, it is important to be in touch with your authentic purpose and communicate that in clear and consistent ways, to let people know your unique skills, passions, and everything that makes you unique. You do this so people know in no uncertain terms what you do best and will come to you when they need your services. If you do not make a conscious effort to ensure that you create a personal brand, either you do not exist, in the minds of people needing your services, or if you do exist, they are not sure what it is you do best.
Personal branding is based on self-awareness, visibility, and transparency. We will work on these three aspects of personal branding using traditional and innovative ways of creating an authentic personal brand.
Suggested Exercises
Two exercises that will help with self-awareness were covered in previous meetings:
1) Translating inner purpose into authentic mission statement: This exercise will surface important themes that are most important to you and will help to identify passions, values, lessons learnt, skills, etc that make you who you are. You can find the inner purpose exercise here.
2) The environmental scan: This will help you define your unique positioning further, by examining what others are doing, you can more clearly articulate what you do differently. You can find the environmental scan exercise here.
If you have done these exercises or plan to do so before coming for the next meeting, please bring the answers with you to the meeting.
